Job Responsibilities

• Execute maritime operations including patrol, surveillance, and defence of Pakistan’s territorial waters and exclusive economic zone.
• Lead and manage naval personnel in sea-going assignments aboard Pakistan Navy surface ships, submarines, and aviation platforms.
• Operate and maintain naval warfare systems including radar, sonar, communication equipment, and weapons systems.
• Plan and execute naval exercises, fleet manoeuvres, and joint operations with other armed forces branches.
• SSG(N) officers undertake special operations, commando training, and high-risk maritime security missions.
• Aviation branch officers pilot naval aircraft and helicopters for maritime patrol, search and rescue, and anti-submarine operations.
• Submarine officers operate underwater vessels and execute covert surveillance and deterrence patrols.
• Maintain operational readiness of assigned naval assets and ensure crew preparedness for all contingency scenarios.

Engineering Branch

Job Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair naval engineering systems including ship propulsion, weapons, avionics, and electronic warfare equipment.
• Oversee the technical upkeep of naval vessels, submarines, aircraft, and shore-based installations in accordance with Navy engineering standards.
• Plan and supervise maintenance schedules, defect rectification, and technical inspections on assigned engineering assets.
• Apply specialized expertise in disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, mechatronics, civil, or information technology as per assigned branch.
• Manage engineering departments on board ships or at naval bases, ensuring crew safety and equipment readiness at all times.
• Coordinate with technical teams and civilian contractors for major overhauls, dockyard work, and equipment upgrades.
• IT and Meteorology officers provide specialized technical support to naval communication networks, data systems, and weather forecasting.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and engineering assessments for submission to the commanding officer and technical directorate.

Medical Branch – Surgical Specialists

Job Responsibilities

• Provide specialist surgical care to Pakistan Navy personnel, their families, and authorized patients at naval hospitals and medical facilities.
• Perform complex surgical procedures in the assigned specialty including emergency, elective, and trauma surgery as required.
• Lead surgical teams, supervise junior medical officers, and train naval medical staff in surgical techniques and patient care protocols.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up for patients under care at naval medical centres.
• Participate in medical boards, operational deployments, and shipboard medical duties as directed by naval medical command.
• Contribute to medical research, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives within Pakistan Navy healthcare services.
• Respond to mass casualty events, disasters, and operational emergencies as part of Pakistan Navy’s medical support capability.
• Maintain clinical competency through continuing medical education and adherence to PMDC and naval medical standards.

Medical Branch – Physicians & Medical Specialists

Job Responsibilities

• Provide specialist medical consultations, diagnosis, and treatment to naval personnel and their dependants at naval hospitals and medical centres.
• Manage inpatient and outpatient services in the assigned medical specialty and ensure high standards of clinical care at all times.
• Lead medical boards for fitness assessments, recruitment medicals, and evaluation of serving naval officers and sailors.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical officers, paramedics, and nursing staff posted under the assigned medical department.
• Respond to maritime medical emergencies aboard ships, submarines, and at naval shore establishments during operational deployments.
• Coordinate with specialist consultants, civilian hospitals, and referral centres for complex cases requiring tertiary care.
• Contribute to preventive medicine programmes, health education campaigns, and occupational health monitoring for naval personnel.
• Maintain clinical records, prepare medical reports, and participate in hospital quality assurance and accreditation activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Teach academic subjects to officer cadets and naval personnel at Pakistan Navy educational institutions and training establishments.
• Develop and deliver curriculum for assigned subjects in accordance with Pakistan Navy academic standards and HEC requirements.
• Design assessments, examinations, and evaluations and maintain academic records for students under instruction.
• Provide academic counselling and mentorship to officer cadets during their formative training period at naval colleges.
• Contribute to research, publications, and knowledge development in the assigned academic discipline.
• Participate in curriculum reviews, faculty development programmes, and academic accreditation activities.
• Represent the education branch in inter-services academic committees and joint training activities as directed.
• Maintain own professional development through research, conferences, and academic publications in the relevant discipline.

• Education: MS / MPhil in relevant subject (English, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Biology, Pakistan Studies, Islamic Studies, or Statistics) from HEC recognized university

Naval Law, Supply, & Support Branches

Job Responsibilities

• Naval Law Officers: Provide legal advice on naval law, international maritime law, courts martial, and service tribunals. Draft legal opinions, handle military justice proceedings, and advise command on legal compliance.
• Supply Officers: Manage naval logistics including procurement, inventory management, supply chain operations, and financial administration for naval units.
• Healthcare Support Officers: Support naval medical operations in administrative, paramedical, and healthcare management roles at naval hospitals and medical establishments.
• Public Relations Officers: Manage media relations, communications strategy, social media, and public affairs for Pakistan Navy to strengthen its public image.
• Defence & Strategic Studies / International Relations: Provide analytical support, strategic assessments, and policy research to naval command and defence planning bodies.
• International Law Officers: Advise on treaties, maritime law, UNCLOS, and international agreements relevant to Pakistan Navy operations.
• All branch officers undergo naval officer training and serve in both sea-going and shore-based assignments throughout their commission.
• Contribute to inter-agency coordination, joint task forces, and multi-service operations as directed by naval command.
