Job Responsibilities

• Lead the overall coordination and supervision of the Capacity Building project for the Directorate General of Archaeology.
• Oversee development project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure adherence to agreed plans.
• Coordinate with government departments, contractors, and heritage specialists across project sites in Punjab.
• Supervise conservation, restoration, and heritage management activities at historical monuments and archaeological sites.
• Prepare progress reports, presentations, and documentation for departmental review and approval.
• Ensure compliance with PCATP/PEC professional standards and HEC-recognized best practices throughout project execution.
• Manage stakeholder relationships including provincial government, PEC/PCATP bodies, and international heritage partners where relevant.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or Civil Engineering from an HEC-recognized university; must be registered with PCATP or PEC. A Master’s in Civil Engineering, Heritage Management, or Project Management is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years (with Master’s) or 20 years (with Bachelor’s) in supervising development projects, preferably in heritage management, conservation of historical monuments, and archaeological sites.

Conservation Architect

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural conservation and restoration planning for historical monuments and heritage sites in Punjab.
• Prepare conservation design drawings, technical specifications, and restoration proposals for heritage structures.
• Conduct condition assessments of heritage buildings and document existing fabric, damage, and deterioration.
• Oversee and supervise conservation work carried out on site by contractors and craftsmen.
• Ensure all conservation interventions adhere to recognized international standards including UNESCO and ICOMOS guidelines.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, horticulture experts, and project management staff on integrated conservation work.
• Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and photographic records of conservation progress.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Architecture or Architectural Engineering from an HEC-recognized university; registration with PCATP is required. A Master’s in Conservation, Heritage Management, or a related field is preferred.

Chief Conservationist (Built Heritage)

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the built heritage conservation strategy for all PMU-managed Punjab tourism rehabilitation and revamping projects.
• Provide senior technical guidance on the conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse of historic structures and built heritage assets.
• Review and approve conservation designs, technical specifications, and intervention methodologies prepared by the conservation team.
• Advise the Program Management Unit on heritage risk assessments, conservation priorities, and budget allocation for built heritage work.
• Ensure all conservation and restoration interventions comply with national and international heritage standards and best practices.
• Liaise with PEC, PCATP, UNESCO, and other heritage bodies as required throughout project implementation.
• Mentor and guide Conservation Architects and junior heritage professionals within the PMU.

Horticulture Expert

• Design and implement landscape and horticulture plans for heritage sites, gardens, and grounds within Punjab tourism rehabilitation projects.
• Advise on the selection of historically appropriate plant species, trees, and ground cover for heritage and archaeological site settings.
• Supervise landscaping, floriculture, and greenery establishment works carried out by contractors at project sites.
• Develop maintenance plans for gardens, lawns, and green areas associated with rehabilitated heritage sites.
• Assess soil, drainage, and irrigation requirements and recommend appropriate interventions for sustainable landscape management.
• Coordinate with Conservation Architects and structural engineers to ensure horticulture work is compatible with the heritage conservation approach.
• Prepare horticulture progress reports and documentation for project management and departmental review.

• Develop and manage the monitoring and evaluation framework for the Punjab Tourism Rehabilitation and Revamping PMU projects.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor physical and financial progress of conservation and rehabilitation works.
• Collect, verify, and analyze field data on project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
• Prepare periodic M&E progress reports, dashboards, and issue flags for senior management attention.
• Coordinate with contractors, site engineers, and project management staff to track compliance with project timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Maintain a project database covering site-level progress, expenditure tracking, and key performance indicators.
• Support internal and external evaluation exercises and audits of PMU project activities.
