Job Responsibilities

• Handle inward and outward correspondence of the assigned MES office, including stamping, numbering, and distributing official letters, files, and documents to the relevant section in-charges in a timely and organized manner.
• Maintain and update official registers including dak register, dispatch register, movement register, and attendance register in accurate, legible, and up-to-date condition for inspection and audit purposes.
• Type official letters, orders, reports, and correspondence on computer using MS Word at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute, ensuring accuracy, correct formatting, and adherence to official letter-writing standards.
• File and retrieve official documents, correspondence, and case files as directed by the section in-charge, maintaining a systematic and secure filing system that allows quick retrieval of records.
• Prepare and maintain summaries, abstracts, and basic data compilation as assigned by the supervising officer, supporting section-level reporting and record-keeping requirements of the MES establishment.
• Assist in managing attendance, leave records, and time sheets for office staff, compiling monthly reports for submission to the accounts or administration section.
• Operate basic office equipment including printers, photocopiers, and scanners, and support the office’s IT-related administrative tasks using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) acquired through NITB training.
• Ensure the confidentiality, security, and proper custody of all official documents, case files, and classified correspondence in the assigned section, following MES’s document management and security protocols.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive MES official vehicles — including cars, vans, trucks, and military transport vehicles — to transport officers, materials, and equipment between MES offices, cantonments, construction sites, and other designated destinations safely and punctually.
• Conduct daily pre-operation vehicle inspections covering oil levels, tyre pressure, brake functionality, fuel, coolant, battery, lights, and wipers — reporting any defects to the transport supervisor before departure and maintaining the vehicle logbook accurately.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean, roadworthy, and serviceable condition at all times, cooperating with the MES motor transport workshop for scheduled servicing, oiling, and repairs within stipulated maintenance intervals.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, MES driving regulations, speed limits on cantonment roads and public highways, and military transport discipline protocols while operating government vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

• Painter: Prepare surfaces and apply internal and external paint, primer, distemper, whitewash, varnish, and protective coatings on walls, ceilings, woodwork, and metalwork of MES-managed military buildings and facilities, following specifications and achieving smooth, uniform finishes.
• Pipe Fitter / Plumber: Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, sewage, and gas piping systems in military residential, commercial, and institutional buildings — including pipe jointing, valve replacement, pump connections, and water tank maintenance.
• Carpenter: Fabricate, install, repair, and maintain wooden components including doors, windows, door frames, shutters, furniture, built-in wardrobes, ceiling works, and structural timber elements in MES-managed defence facilities and residences.
• Mason: Carry out brickwork, blockwork, plastering, pointing, tile fixing, concrete casting, and general masonry repair works on military buildings, boundary walls, and civil infrastructure under the supervision of a MES engineer or overseer.
• Polisher: Apply wood polish, lacquer, and surface finishing treatments to furniture, wooden floors, and woodwork in military offices, residences, and other MES establishments using hand and machine polishing techniques.
• Upholsterer: Repair and re-upholster furniture including chairs, sofas, settees, and headboards in military messes, offices, and residences — applying fabric, foam, and padding with appropriate technique and materials.
• Motor Pump Attendant: Operate, monitor, and maintain water supply motor pumps, booster pumps, and associated electrical and mechanical systems at MES water supply installations — recording readings, detecting faults, and reporting operational issues to the engineer in charge.
• Maintain assigned tools and equipment in clean, serviceable condition; follow safety rules applicable to the respective trade including PPE use, safe tool handling, hot-work permits (where applicable), and electrical isolation procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Mali: Maintain the grounds, lawns, flower beds, trees, and gardens of MES-managed military establishments — mowing, watering, weeding, planting, trimming, and applying fertilizers or pesticides as directed by the estate supervisor.
• Chowkidar: Provide security and guard duties at MES offices, stores, and establishments — controlling access, patrolling the premises, recording entries and exits, and reporting any security incidents or suspicious activity to the officer in charge.
• Sanitary Worker: Clean and maintain toilets, washrooms, drains, corridors, and outdoor areas of MES offices and facilities using approved cleaning materials — ensuring hygienic conditions at all times and disposing of waste per MES sanitation protocols.
• Labourer: Assist skilled tradesmen — including carpenters, masons, painters, and plumbers — in carrying materials, digging, mixing, lifting, and other manual labour tasks on MES construction, maintenance, and repair sites as directed.
• Sanitary Worker (Sweeper): Sweep, mop, and clean floors, stairways, and outdoor areas of MES buildings and military installations, collecting and disposing of garbage in designated areas and maintaining overall cleanliness of the assigned premises.
