Fire Driver (05 Posts – KPT PS-3)

As a Fire Driver at Karachi Port Trust, your main duty is to operate heavy firefighting vehicles and respond to emergencies quickly. Your daily tasks include:

• Driving fire tenders, water bowsers, and emergency rescue vehicles to incident sites.
• Responding to fire alarms within 2–3 minutes across port areas including terminals, warehouses, and administrative buildings.
• Operating vehicle-mounted pumps, monitors, and foam systems during firefighting operations.
• Performing daily vehicle checks: engine oil, water tanks, foam levels, siren, and lights.
• Maintaining the fire vehicle logbook and reporting mechanical faults to senior fire officers.
• Participating in weekly fire drills and monthly vehicle proficiency tests.
• Assisting firemen in laying hoses, connecting branch pipes, and positioning vehicles at hydrants.
• Working in 12-hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Supporting rescue operations during chemical spills, building collapses, or shipboard fires.
• Following port security protocols while entering restricted high-risk zones.

Fireman (15 Posts – KPT PS-2)

As a Fireman at Karachi Port Trust, you will be the first responder to fire emergencies. Your daily tasks include:

• Responding to fire alarms and reaching incident sites within port premises immediately.
• Operating firefighting equipment including hoses, nozzles, extinguishers, and breathing apparatus.
• Connecting hoses to hydrants and maintaining water flow pressure during operations.
• Performing rescue operations during building fires, ship fires, or cargo explosions.
• Conducting fire prevention inspections in warehouses, offices, and fuel storage areas.
• Maintaining firefighting gear, tools, and protective clothing in ready condition.
• Participating in daily physical training and weekly fire drills.
• Assisting the Fire Driver in positioning vehicles and laying hose lines.
• Working in rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
