The Mandate: Your Core Responsibilities

As Chairman, you will be the ultimate authority responsible for the strategic direction and operational excellence of WAPDA. Your role will be multifaceted, requiring a blend of technical insight, financial acumen, and administrative prowess.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Strategic National Planning: You will work directly with the Federal Government to plan, execute, and maintain Pakistan’s vital water and hydel power resources, ensuring their sustainable development for generations to come.
• Comprehensive Organizational Leadership: Acting as the head of the Authority, you will be in charge of all administrative, financial, and technical functions as defined in the WAPDA Act of 1958.
• Management of Core Wings: You will provide executive oversight for the water, power, and finance wings of the Authority, along with all supporting departments, ensuring synergy and efficiency across the board.
• High-Level Stakeholder Engagement: You will be the primary liaison with national and international agencies, government departments, regulatory bodies, and other state institutions. Your ability to effectively manage these relationships will be crucial for the timely completion and commissioning of all projects.
• Executing Governmental Directives: You will undertake any other critical assignments given by the Ministry of Water Resources or the Federal Government.

The Ideal Candidate: Qualifications and Experience

This is an open merit position, and we are searching nationwide for the absolute best candidate. To be successful in this role, you must possess an extensive history of professional achievement and meet the following criteria:

Required Qualifications:

You must hold one of the following:

• A graduate degree in Engineering from a HEC-recognized university.
• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Finance, or an equivalent degree from a HEC-recognized university.
• Membership in a recognized body of professional accountants.
• Current or former status as a civil servant in BPS-21 or above, or an officer of an equivalent rank in the armed forces of Pakistan.

Required Experience:

• A minimum of twenty-five years of distinguished professional experience.
• Within that, at least eight years of proven experience in a senior or top-tier managerial or administrative post.

What We Offer: The position offers a competitive remuneration package equivalent to the MP-I Scale, with specific pay and allowance structures for appointees from the civil service or armed forces.
