Job Responsibilities

• Provide intellectual leadership and academic vision for the assigned department, shaping research agenda, curriculum development strategy, and overall academic standards in alignment with Sukkur IBA University’s mission and HEC quality criteria.
• Teach advanced undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level courses in the relevant discipline, developing course materials, syllabi, and assessments that reflect current research frontiers and industry best practices.
• Lead an active, funded research program producing original scholarly contributions — peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, and research monographs — in internationally indexed publications appropriate to the discipline.
• Supervise PhD and MPhil students from research proposal through thesis completion, providing rigorous academic mentoring, regular feedback, and formal written assessments at each stage of the doctoral journey.
• Secure competitive external research funding from HEC, national science foundations, international agencies, and industry partners to sustain and expand the department’s research activity and graduate student support.
• Participate actively in departmental governance including curriculum review committees, faculty recruitment panels, student admission processes, quality enhancement cells, and academic council deliberations.
• Mentor junior faculty members — Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Lecturers — by providing academic guidance, reviewing grant proposals and manuscripts, and supporting their professional development toward promotion milestones.
• Represent Sukkur IBA University in external academic forums, professional associations, national HEC panels, and accreditation bodies, building the university’s academic reputation and establishing collaborative partnerships with peer institutions.

HEC Eligibility Criteria (Typical for Professor BPS-21)

• Education: PhD in the relevant discipline from an HEC-recognized or international institution; degree must be HEC attested or HEC equivalence certificate obtained.
